Configure Digipeat

This tab of the Configure dialog specifies the general parameters controlling message digipeating.

The options that can be changed here are:

• Digipeating aliases that will cause this station to digipeat packets. The standard aliases of TEMP1-1, WIDE1-1, and WIDE2-2 are pre-loaded into the application, but only TEMP1-1 is enabled for digipeating by default. Other custom aliases (such as state/regional aliases) can be added. Each alias specifies whether or not it is enabled for digipeating, and whether or not the retransmitting interface port's callsign should be inserted into the repeater address list of the digipeated packet (the UITRACE mode of older hardware TNCs). Note that any number of aliases may be defined and/or enabled for tracing; there is no arbitrary limit on the number supported.
• What should be the default alias for any locally-originated message transmissions that need a digipeater specification. Some types of sending allow you to override this default and/or support proportional pathing.
